Get Rid of Acne Scars

At some point you had acne, now you are left with embarrassing, ugly scars. There are ways to diminish and reduce the appearance of the acne scars. The severity of the scars will determine what you will need to do to diminish them. I would recommend seeking advice from a dermatologist or a cosmetic surgeon to determine the best course of action.

For very mild scarring you can try a few at home procedures and products to help reduce the appearance of the scars. At home dermabrasion and chemical peels can help diminish some scarring especially if you also use retinol or alpha hydroxyl acid lotions or creams. For sensitive skin you may not want to apply retinol or alpha hydroxyl products right after dermabrasion or peels because it can cause redness and irritation. Other products you can try are scar reducing creams like Mederma or Rosehip seed oil which is said to be great at reducing scar tissue. Aloe Vera juice and gels and lavender oils are also said to work well on reducing scars.

Professional treatments for scarring include Laser Resurfacing which involves the use of a laser to remove skin so new skin can form in its place. Laser resurfacing can cause uneven skin tones in people with darker skin. It is still being studied but shows a lot of promise. After treatment you may experience redness and swelling which may last for several weeks.

Dermabrasion has been around for decades. Originally sandpaper was used to remove damaged skin. Now a machine rotates to remove the damaged skin, the skin is numbed or frozen first. After the procedure your skin is raw and scabs will form. After the scabs heal your skin will be reddish for several weeks.

Augmentation is a procedure where material like collagen or your own fat will be injected under the scar to bring it to the surface. The treatments last for about six months but they are working on more permanent solutions.

Subcision is a technique that detaches the scar from deeper tissue and allows a pool of blood to form under the scar. The blood clots and helps form connective tissue under the scar to level it with the rest of the skin surface. Subcision is usually combined with either dermabrasion or laser resurfacing.

The depth and shape of your scars will determine what treatment your doctor will recommend.

Christian Dior - Fall Winter 2010/2011 VIDEO

PRE FALL 2010 CHRISTIAN DIOR

PARIS 26 JANUARY 2010

A military tin helmet remade in leather, a scarf turban, and a beret: The headgear alone is enough to whisk the imagination into the zone of air raids, blackouts, and plucky WWII heroines playing their part while, quite possibly, having some off-duty fun with the GIs.

That Christian Dior had troubled to theme its pre-fall collection so coherently and with such attention to detail again reinforces the importance of this in-between season—no longer second-league clothes shown to buyers on racks but a full, competitive camera-ready production for general release. After all, this is where the daywear is for Dior, and this season it played as a military sequel to the film noir hit the house put out for Spring. The Eisenhower jackets and bombers, pencil skirts with military pockets, and fur-collared tweed coats, all in shades of khaki, olive, and brown, do an excellent job of saluting the trends while maintaining Parisian standards of fit and timelessness. And for evening, the silver lamé siren dress—spot-on for the coming season—looked far too accomplished to be classified as a mere understudy.

PRE FALL 2010 DKNY VIDEO

PRE-FALL 210 DKNY

DKNY s tightly focused pre-fall collection is heavy on classic American staples. In the lineup: a great khaki trench, ultra-soft unlined twill blazers, and a lightweight silk bomber jacket. "Less is more," said the label's senior vice president of design, Andrew Comley. That doesn't mean he played it safe, though. "I wanted a balance between timeless sportswear and a bit of novelty," he explained. Because the DKNY girl loves a good print, he created a graphic take on argyle for a georgette drop-waist frock; a more subtle version of the pattern livened up a jacquard coat. Even more playful were the navy and red nautical stripes and anchor motifs. The contemporary brand is about to come of age—yes, it'll turn 21 next year—but its MO remains the same: wearable basics with a hint of fun.

LANCOME JULIA RESTOIN ROITFELD

LANCÔME has reportedly signed Julia Restoin-Roitfeld for its forthcoming spring make-up collection. Although there has been no official announcement, industry rumours say Restoin-Roitfeld will front the new Ultra Lavande make-up campaign - designed in collaboration with L'Wren Scott - with ads shot by photographer Mario Testino. Restoin-Roitfeld is no stranger to the modelling world having already racked up campaigns with Mango, Gap, Rock&Republic and, most recently, Jil Sander fragrances. However, signing with Lancôme will certainly up her global profile and place her on Lancôme's long list of famous faces, which already include Julia Roberts and Kate Winslet.

Ana Gonzalez

DALLAS, May 26, 2009 / FW/ — A native of Toledo Spain, Ana Gonzalez (born 26 August 1970) studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Madrid where she trained to be an artist and then continued on to EFTI to study photography.

Establishing Locking Shocking in 1996, and then incorporating a year later with Oscar Benito as partner a year later, Ana Gonzalez acted as Creative Director wherein she designed accessories and jewelry. Locking Shocking captured Spain’s national attention and Ana Gonzalez went on to collaborate with Amaya Arzuaga, Michiko Koshino and Dexter Wong and thus also earning international accolade.

In 2001, still under the Locking Shocking brand name, Ana Gonzalez launched a ready-to-wear collection and she made her debut at the fifth edition of “Circuit Barcelona.”

Later on that year, in September 2002 summoned by Pasarela Cibeles in Madrid, Locking Shocking won their first award “L´Oreal Paris” best Spring/Summer 2003 collection by a young designer.

Locking Shocking received in 2004 the Fashion “Grand Prix” by Marie-Clarie magazine, award for best national designer of the year.

Even with her very hectic schedule in fashion, Ana continued to maintain strong ties with other different artistic disciplines, something that seems normal taking into account her studies in Fine Arts at the Fine Arts Faculty of Madrid.

She participated with several cultural institutions and artistic organizations throughout exhibitions, installations, video art and photography. This multi-discipline attitude allowed Ana to evolve into what she considers to be “The Matrix” of any sensitivity related to creation.

This interrelation within different art disciplines has always defined Ana’s work as the creative director of Locking Shocking and also what has recently developed into her newly created firm, this time on her own as Ana Locking.

In 2007, Locking Shocking was dissolved; the partnership with Oscar Benito gone, Ana Gonzalez went on to become Ana Locking.

Under this new stage as Ana Locking and with her debut collection “REENTRY” Winter 08-09, Ana received in February 2008 the L´Oreal Paris award for best collection at Pasarela Cibeles of Madrid.
